This review is from: Nesco/American Harvest FD-80P 700 Watt Square Food Dehydrator and Jerky Maker (Kitchen) I must have recieved a bad one from the factory. I plugged it in and started cleaning the dishes. Shortly I started smelling smoke and when I turned around the unit was melting onto the heating coils. Since we usually leave the unit running over night I did not want to try another model and risk a fire while asleep.
